Why Relationships Fail? 10 possible reasons

Human is a social animal and for him, relationships are essential for a better life.

If there are no proper relationships, a person will face hardships in physical and psychological support.

So he always tries to have some relationships with fellow humans. But interestingly, some relations break or get worse over time. Very few remain good for long.

So why are there struggles in relationships?

I remember one old quote which I heard from a colleague. It says most people fight for either money, land, or women.

I thought it is correct to some extent, but there are also few other reasons why relationships go sour. These include

  • Ego,
  • Dishonesty,
  • Lack of commitment,
  • Excess dominance,
  • Lack of time,
  • Improper health

Common Reasons Why relationships fail

Ego

  • Everyone has certain levels of ego and this varies based on income, property, social status, appearance etc.
  • In a relationship, most of the time a man seems to be subtly dominant over his wife. Here she might accept the dominance willfully.
  • But, this has a threshold and when it is breached then issues arise in between.
  • Besides a couple might find ego problems over time due to a change in their career success rates.
  • So, in such a case, to avoid further complications, one has to be ready to step down to mend the relationship.

Borrowing money & not returning it:

  • Whenever you fall short of money, you immediately turn towards your friend or cousins or relatives.
  • This is, in fact, the biggest problem in the long term.

Since finances can be a toil, this even endangers relationships.

    Making comments on complaints:

    • Commenting can be fun on each other in most relationships.
    • But the same comments done in the person’s absence before others can pose a problem.
    • This happens when he knows about your comment through others.
    • There arises suspicion and dishonesty gradually, which might one day lead to a breakage of the relationship.

    Lack of respect

    • Mutual respect is a must in a relationship.
    • When this is gone, almost everything slowly declines.
    • No two people can continue to have a relationship when they donot feel the mutual respect arising with love.

    Fighting for the same object

    • This is a troublesome and sometimes dangerous factor.
    • There are might also arise clashes and crimes due to the fight for the same object (love with a girl or property etc.).
    • Someone has to win, so the other if accepts it, there can be fewer problems.
    • But, the relationship is not strong and loses its magnitude with time even after one wins.

    Dishonesty

    • If one is married and then has an affair, this might be disliked by the spouse in most cases.
    • Honesty gains respect. When honesty prevails, other compatibility problems slowly soothe away and relationships prevail.
    • This honesty is a key factor in marriage, love, business, politics, etc.
    • If there is a breach of honesty, the relationship might get broken forever.

So honesty with the partner in marriage, business, politics, etc., is essential.

Not spending sufficient time for a relationship

    • If one is married or not, still if he has family-like parents, siblings, or wife, one must always devote some time to build relationships.
    • Many problems in a relationship arise due to not spending sufficient time with family, friends, relatives, etc.

    Not wishing or exchanging wishes:

    • People tend to get hurt when the people they love do not wish them on their birthday or other occasions.
    • Wishing them on those occasions make them feel valued, loved and caredfor.
    • However, one might not remember the occasion and might hurt their partners.
    • We find many greeting cards, gifts in the market, not just for business but because they are intended for building relationships.
