Trees are an important connection between nature and life on earth.
Without trees, the entire animal and human life could be in danger.
Out of greed and desire for more, we humans have been destroying these valuable assets of nature.
We need to take immediate steps to prevent further damage to greenery and ensure our safe survival.
Saving trees is a way to save our environment. But how do you take care of the trees? Here are some important ways.
How to save trees
1. Plant more
- It is common that plants die due to old age or get destroyed due to heavy winds and rains.
- This natural phenomenon decreases the number of saplings.
- So planting saplings where possible is an answer to this natural reduction in tree population.
- When the plant is small, providing sufficient water to grow is essential.
- But watering plants everyday would be hard so use plant bags to provide water on regular basis to plant though you work only on weekends.
- Younger trees have a small trunk that can be easily broken down by animals or even machines during work.
- Even a few cattle try to graze on them.
So until the plant grows big, it helps to keep trunks protected by using tree guards.
2. Use organic fertilizers
- While you grow any sapling, we tend to use artificial chemical fertilizers.
- Instead, natural or organic fertilizers should be used to grow them.
Have you noticed old gigantic trees?
- They have grown on their own at places with sufficient natural fertility in the soil.
- But, if you plant a new tree, there is no way it can grow so gigantic with chemical fertilizers.
- It is believed that natural fertilizers release nutrients slowly over a long time. Also, they provide all micro and macro nutrients. Hence, the plants grow healthy and have a longer lifespan.
- Further, the plants grown by natural fertilizers are found to be less prone to diseases and pests.
- Hence, they would be stronger and more durable than those grown by the use of artificial fertilizers.
3. Paint tree trunks
Painting of tree trunk with lime stone powder prevents the tree from infections.
This helps them grow well and live longer
4. Prefer to grow fruit or other valuable saplings
- Shrubs grown on lawns or farms, if not useful, are cut off for more space or beauty in the future.
- So try to grow plants that yield fruits or other valuables.
- In this way, one may not develop a need to cut them off in the future if they find it intrusive.
5. Prevent excess deforestation
- Cutting down trees on a mass scale should be avoided. If still, there is a need, one should grow an equal number or more new ones to replace the old ones.
- This might need a community effort to happen.
- In many places in the world, there is extensive deforestation for development and industrialization, leading to the destruction of the environment.
- In the process, many older trees are cut down mercilessly.
- One can prevent such deforestation by organized efforts and conscious efforts without preferences for excess monetary benefits.
6. Use less paper
- Paper is exclusively made from plant material.
- Previously paper was used only for books or records.
- But, nowadays, due to industrialization and technological advancement, paper use has become enormous.
- We waste paper on monthly bills like telephone, electricity, ATM transactions, etc.
- Using online payment methods and digital bills can help reduce the wastage of paper and thereby save trees.
7. Minimize the use of disposable wood material
- There are many disposable items made of wood like wooden spoons, plates, utensils, etc.
- Try to avoid them for single use. Instead, adopt metallic ones where possible.
8. Governmental rules
- Most of the time, businesses run with money and have the least concern for nature.
- They do a lot of advertising by the distribution of paper brochures, leaflets, etc.
- Further, to make money, they develop real estate projects.
- Though it is unnecessary for the public or unsuitable for living, ventures are laid out, and many trees are cut down.
- Governments can enforce rules to prevent unnecessary layouts for real estate.
9. Mandatory tree plantation
- When new homes or roads are built, rules must be made for the mandatory cultivation of saplings.
- One has to grow trees in their home or on the top of their roofs (in pots).
- Further, trees should be grown on the roadside once the extension has been done.
- Also, there should be rules mandating each family to grow a certain number of plants.
10. Financial Incentive
- Many countries offer financial support for old-age people, unemployed youth, etc.
- Though this is good support, these people should be requested for voluntary efforts to grow and maintain trees.
- This way, they can support the society from which they derive financial support.
this was very help ful for my project and gave me alot of good ideas
Protecting our forests from deforestation can help limit the impact and severity of natural disasters. Saving trees can save lives.
This is very good because right now greatest service to our earth is to save trees from cutting and plant trees as much as we can
Hello there. Frankly, what I’m going to say may sound commercial. A very real way of saving trees is to support the Reclaimed Wood Market when and where possible. For example, my friend Bob White has millions of board feet of Reclaimed Crane Mats. These are big timbers bolted together for heavy equipment to drive over. They are all hardwoods with several species of Oak. Bob has been disassembling them, cleaning them up, and milling them for about 2 1/2 years now. When I asked Bob how many trees it took to make all these Crane Mats, he replied about 800,000 trees. By milling them, does Bob save that many trees? That can only be left to the imagination. But, also imagine–if we were a society whose first collective impulse was to save trees, these kinds of markets would be further developed. For example, I could be wrong, but, I don’t know of anyone else but Bob who mills these timbers. They are used for paneling for ceilings and walls, decorative timbers and fireplace mantels, stair treads, lamps, tables, and table and counter tops–and they are rustically phenomenal. I did not write this generically. I’m just a real guy doing what I can. Thanks for reading.
Impressive. Pity we are destroying the planet more than we are saving it.
